The resolution came forward as a result of the Lahore declaration adopted on 3rd December, 2014 where the APA plenary had established SCCAP with more developments in subsequent years on the path towards an Asian Parliament. It was the Senate of Pakistan that came up with the proposal of the Asian Parliament back in 2014 and on the SCCAP meeting on Monday Pakistan came up with most amendments to the resolution.
