He said that in the era of provincial autonomy and decentralization, the Senate has to play more efficient and prominent role to become an effective voice of the federating units. He said that the leadership of the Upper House is cognizant of the issues being faced by the provinces and especially the province of Balochistan. He further remarked that the Senate has constructively debated issues of Balochistan and the government is placing the growth and development of Balochistan at highest esteem as the road towards Pakistan’s development passes through Balochistan. He called for shunning the traditional approach and act in unison to the feet those forces bent upon hampering the development process.
Speaker of Balochistan assembly agreed with the views of Chairman Senate and emphasized the need for strong linkages between Senate and provincial assembly of Balochistan to take the development process further.
The meeting was also attended by Leader of the House in the Senate Senator Shibli Faraz, Senators Ahmad Khan and Sajjad Hussain Turi.
