Event Title: Meeting of the Senate House Committee held at Parliament Lodges

Deputy Chairman Senate and Chairman Senate House Committee, showed grave concern; at lack of progress on various issues taken up by the Senate House Committee.

The meeting commenced with confirmation of minutes of the meeting held on 21st March, 2019 and progress report on the recommendations made. While discussing the progress report on the process of new tendering of cafeteria, coffee shop, laundry and other shops, the Committee was informed that the National Assembly held no records on this process. The Committee recommended that this matter must be referred to investigation agencies.

Chairman Senate House Committee, Senator Saleem Mandviwalla took strict notice of non-payment of gas bill of Parliament Lodges Cafeteria and suites and directed SNGPL that it will be responsible if in the future outstanding bills pending over some years are received. 

While taking up the matter of the construction of an additional block at Parliament Lodges, Chairman Senate House Committee, Senator Saleem Mandviwalla showed major concern regarding the lack of progress.  The Committee reviewed the list of renovations conducted at the Parliament Lodges since March, 2018. 

Members present at the meeting were Senator Kalsoom Parveen, Senator Mir Muhammad Yousaf Badini, Senator Dr. Sardar Shafiq Tareen, Senator Dr. Ashok Kumar, and senior officers of the National Assembly, Capital Development Authority and SNGPL.
