Senate Functional Committee on Devolution has expressed its displeasure over the continuous absence of the Minister for Inter Provincial Coordination from the meetings of the Committee in which the Committee was continuously deliberating on important issues relating to devolution process. The Committee was presided over by Chairman Committee Senator Moula Bux Chandio at the Parliament House on Tuesday. Chairman of the Committee was of the view that Parliamentary Committees are extension of the Parliament and their role is crucial in promoting good governance and transparency. He said that the government should accord high importance to the Committee system so that matters concerning the public could be deliberated thoroughly. Members of the Committee also expressed their concern over the absence of the Minister concerned from all the meetings of the Committee. Later the Committee discussed in detail various aspects of the Special Report of the Functional Committee and approved it after detailed deliberation.
