The meeting of the Senate Committee on Rules of Procedure and Privileges was held at Parliament House on Monday The Committee once again considered a Privilege Motion moved by Senator Mushahidullah Khan regarding baseless allegations of dues worth PKR 2700000 against him on account of his stay in Punjab House nbsp nbsp Chaired by Senator Ayesha Raza Farooq the members present included Senator Muhammad Ali Khan Saif Senator Syed Muzafar Hussain Shah Senator Pervaiz Rashid Senator Dilawar Khan Senator Mushahidullah Senator Manzoor Ahmed Khan Kakar Senator Dr Sikandar Mandhro Senator Nighat Mirza and Senior Officers Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs along with all concerned nbsp Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs Ali Muhammad Khan was also present nbsp nbsp After hour long deliberations the Committee was informed that no set rules or SOPs were being followed to let out rooms at Punjab House nbsp The Committee concluded that no record implicating Senator Mushahidullah Khan could be found As requested the Punjab House investigation committee was allowed 15 days to complete enquiry after which a report is to be submitted immediately to the Committee nbsp nbsp Chairperson Committee informed members that all data regarding the booking by the Senate Secretariat had been submitted to the Committee nbsp However Punjab House was unable to furnish any details of the claims It was asserted that the dues that were paid by the Senate were also being shown in the outstanding bills presented by Punjab House details of which must be presented to the Committee as well nbsp Chairperson Committee stressed that if one claim is questionable authenticity of the rest could not be ascertained nbsp The Committee stressed the need to get to the root of the issue so that responsibility is fixed nbsp
