Educated in England 1950 to 1962 in Queens College, Taunton, Somerset, U.K and University of London. Holds B.Sc (Hons) degree. Commissioned in Pakistan army in 1968. Graduated from Command and Staff College 1978, Served in various Command and staff appointments. Took release from Army on own request in 1992. He was a freelance columnist and political analyst. His analytical articles on political, social, cultural and international issues appeared regularly in The Nation, Dawn, Pakistan Observer, Defence Journal, Frontier Post, Baluchistan Times, MAG, The Voice, Pakistan Illustrated and others English newspapers and periodicals. Has been active in social, political, cultural and literary circles in Karachi since retirement. Elected Vice Chairman District East Karachi 1994-96, elected Mayor Jamshed Town, Karachi in 2005.
