‘’ It is very heartening to see how the UK Pakistan Business Council is making sincere efforts to bring together the business communities of Pakistan and the United Kingdom. Such efforts of connectivity and facilitation by the business communities in different countries present a host of opportunities that would otherwise be hard to find.” Said Chairman Senate Muhammad Sadiq Sanjrani while addressing the participants of an event organized by UK Pakistan Business Council here in Islamabad today.

Islamabad, 4th June, 2021:- Chairman Senate congratulated the UK Pakistan Business Council for arranging the wonderful evening to celebrate the successes and achievements of talented individuals. Sanjrani remarked that there could have been no better way for the Business Council’s flagship launch in Pakistan. The Business Council operates as an effective means of communicating the latest on goings and insight into the trade and business activities between Pakistan and the UK. Such business intel helps the trade and business fraternity to identify common ground and to explore opportunities and the ways and means to make effective and promising investments, and enhance business-to-business relations.

Muhammad Sadiq Sanjrani further said that Pakistan and the UK share a hefty trade volume at around £2.3 billion . However, it is important to understand that it is still far from the potential we can reach between both countries. The Business Council can play a vital role in achieving a significant increase in the trade volume.

Sanjrani informed the participants that “Due to friendly policies of the Government for overseas Pakistanis, investment in Pakistan is increasing by the day”. Talking about CPEC Sanjrani called attention of the business communities around the world of the immense investment potential of the China Pakistan Economic Corridor. He further said that CPEC investment opportunities span across a multitude of industries, and all kinds of business opportunities are available under this multi-billion-dollar project.

Sanjrani expressed his satisfaction that UK has remained a strong supporter of Pakistan in securing GSP plus status from the EU. Its trade and commerce policies are friendly and in favour of Pakistan.  These are all positive conditions for the entrepreneurs and business community from both sides to come forward and utilise the resourcefulness of the UK Pakistan Business Council to their advantage.

Chairman Senate congratulated all the winners for their momentous achievement, and wished best of luck for their future endeavours. At the end Sadiq Sanjrani noted that “With the support of the UK Pakistan Business Council, you all have a powerful tool at your disposal. I encourage you all to help each other through this forum and play your part in uplifting the trade between the UK and Pakistan”
