The meeting was held on Wednesday under the convener ship of Senator Engr. Rukhsana Zuberi at the Parliament House. Senator Rukhsana presented the letter of invitation for inviting to Pakistan Parliamentary Friendship Group in Argentine Senate to visit Pakistan. The Parliamentary interactions will help increase the trade between the two countries which at present does not reflect the true potential of our economic and commercial relations she added.
Senator Rana Maqbool Ahmad on the occasion said that the potential of enhancing cooperation between both countries should also be multi-dimensional. Senator Rana Maqbool Ahmad while addressing the Foreign Affairs Secretary Argentina Republic emphasized on facilitating Pakistan with formal trainings to compete in football at International level. He said that the urban areas of Pakistan have a lot of potential which unfortunately is not executed in a formal manner resulting in Pakistan lagging behind in this globally popular sport of the world. While emphasizing on the need to promote football at national and international level in Pakistan Senator Rana Maqbool said that meetings can be held with the Ministry of Sports to make interactions with Argentina in aiding Pakistan on visits of experts and leader guides for football. The Foreign Affairs Secretary Argentina Republic endorsed the view point of the Senator and said that we have already planned vocational training courses in sports and social awareness.
The meeting also proposed that a parliamentary delegation should visit Argentine to study the judicial system and system of prisons in order to gain understanding on the implementation of Human Rights. The meeting underlined that Parliamentary interactions serve as an avenue of continued dialogue and as a means of deepening people to people contacts.
