Event Date: 2025-07-08

Deputy Chairman Senate of Pakistan, Syedal Khan, addressed a significant meeting of the Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI), stating that it is a great honour and privilege for him to speak before some of the country’s most dynamic business minds and economic leaders. He paid tribute to the business community for their tireless contributions to the national economy.

He said that FPCCI has long served as a bridge between government policy and economic potential. He emphasized that the role of the business community is vital in fostering national development and generating employment opportunities across the country, as traders and industrialists continue to expand industries and introduce innovation.

In his address, the Deputy Chairman stated that, as the Deputy Chairman of the Senate of Pakistan, he assures that the Upper House is committed to economic reforms, legislative stability, and inclusive development. He added that the Senate’s committees especially those on Commerce, Finance, Industries and Production, and Planning are actively engaged in consultations with stakeholders to remove regulatory hurdles, ensure policy continuity, and enhance Pakistan’s competitiveness in regional and global markets.

He stressed the need to create a predictable, business-friendly environment that respects and incorporates the voice of the private sector.

He called upon FPCCI to expand its network and ensure deeper outreach at the grassroots level, highlighting that empowering the provinces is essentially empowering business.

He further stated that the relationship between the public and private sectors must evolve beyond transactional engagements. We need a new social contract—one based on transparency, security, and ease of doing business, wherein the business community commits itself to fair taxation, regulatory compliance, job creation, and inclusive growth, he remarked.

He concluded that this partnership should not aim for short-term gains but for long-term national development.

In his closing remarks, Syedal Khan stated that the Senate stands ready to listen, legislate, and lead wherever needed. But for real change, both the public and private sectors must move in the same direction. Let us choose unity over division, reform over inertia, and courage over complacency. May Allah guide us all on the right path and bless Pakistan with peace, prosperity, and progress.
