Senator Qurat-Ul-Ain Marri, representing the Senate of Pakistan, delivered National Delegation statement, co-hosted by the Women Political Leaders (WPL) and Parliament of Montenegro under the theme “Future Positive:
Building Trust, Driving Progress”.
Delivering her statement, Senator Qurat-Ul-Ain Marri, stressed that in Pakistan, trust and progress are inseparable from the country’s long struggle for democracy, equality, and justice. She underscored that real progress cannot be achieved without inclusion, particularly of women, who represent half the population and carry the hopes of future generations. The legacy of Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto was highlighted as a powerful example of how women’s leadership builds public trust and strengthens democratic institutions through courage, vision, and compassion.
She noted that women parliamentarians in Pakistan are carrying this legacy forward by legislating for child protection, education, health, climate resilience, and digital inclusion, ensuring that vulnerable voices are heard. The statement called for bridging divides between rural and urban, men and women, and citizens and government, while keeping people at the heart of policymaking. Pakistan reaffirmed its commitment to continue building trust in democracy and driving progress for an inclusive, just, and hopeful future.
