A meeting of the Sub-Committee on Parliamentary Lodges was held today under the chairmanship of Senator Nasir Mehmood. The meeting was attended by Senator Danesh Kumar, Senator Hidayatullah Khan, and Senator Asad Qasid, as a special invitee.
The Committee expressed serious concern over the absence of the Chairman CDA and decided to postpone the formal proceedings of the meeting. The members took strong notice of the absence of the Chairman CDA, who, being the Chief Commissioner Islamabad, could not attend the meeting due to another official engagement.
Later, the Committee visited the site of the new Parliamentary Lodges to inspect the model apartment, the design of which had been shared by the CDA in the previous meeting. The Committee expressed dissatisfaction over the delay in completion of the model apartment, despite clear directions given in its last meeting held on 15th October, 2025.
During the site visit, the members pointed out several design and quality issues in the partially completed apartment. The CDA authorities and the contractor were directed to rectify these issues and complete the model apartment by 30th October, 2025, in accordance with the approved design. The Committee’s next meeting has also been scheduled for the same date to review the progress on site.
The Sub-Committee reiterated its resolve that quality of work must be ensured and that the new lodges project should be completed within the stipulated timeframe. The Committee further directed that the Chairman CDA must personally attend the next meeting and brief the members on the issues raised earlier.
The Committee also expressed serious displeasure over the non-submission of the Technical Committee’s enquiry report regarding works carried out in the existing lodges, despite repeated directions and commitments by the CDA.
