Chairman Senate Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani, in his message on the occasion of World Polio Day, said that the eradication of polio is a national responsibility and a guarantee for a better future for our coming generations. Pakistan has made remarkable progress in its polio eradication efforts; however, to achieve complete success, we must further strengthen our collective resolve, continuous efforts, and sense of social responsibility.
The Chairman Senate commended the relentless efforts of the Government of Pakistan, international organizations, and health workers who are tirelessly striving to protect children from this crippling disease. He urged parents to understand the importance of the polio vaccine and ensure that their children receive polio drops during every campaign so that Pakistan can become permanently polio-free.
Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani emphasized that a healthy and safe Pakistan forms the foundation of national development, and every citizen has a vital role to play in the eradication of polio.
