Ms. Misbah Khar, Special Envoy for the Inter-Parliamentary Speakers Conference (ISC), appeared on Pakistan Television’s morning show “World This Morning” to discuss Pakistan’s pivotal role in hosting the upcoming global parliamentary forum. The ISC is a newly constituted multilateral platform established under the leadership of the Chairman Senate of Pakistan, who currently serves as the Acting President of Pakistan and the Founding President of the ISC.
Speaking on the program, Ms. Khar explained that the ISC was conceived in Seoul as a forum for global parliamentary cooperation aimed at addressing pressing global challenges. “The idea was to bring nations together to collectively respond to the evolving geopolitical landscape and the shared challenges of our time,” she said. “Forty-five countries have united under the umbrella of the Speakers Conference to deliberate on issues that threaten our collective future.”
Highlighting the urgency of the moment, Ms. Khar noted that the world today faces hybrid warfare, climate instability, economic fragmentation, and the growing menace of information manipulation. “We live in an era where it’s often hard to distinguish what’s real from what’s fake,” she emphasized. “That’s why platforms like the ISC are essential. They provide parliaments the opportunity to come together in unity and take decisive, collective action.”
Elaborating on the conference’s guiding philosophy, Ms. Khar said, “When you view the Earth from space, you see no borders, no divisions, only one humanity. This perspective lies at the heart of the ISC. We stand for one human race, one family, one world.”
Ms. Khar announced that the Inter-Parliamentary Speakers Conference will take place on November 11–12, with the central theme of “Peace, Security, and Development.” The theme, she added, aligns closely with Pakistan’s vision for a more peaceful and cooperative world.
“The most exciting aspect of this initiative,” Ms. Khar continued, “is that while we are bringing the world to Pakistan’s doorstep, we are also uniting Pakistan to host this global event.” The conference will feature participation from the Prime Minister, who will inaugurate the event; the President of Pakistan, who will host a dinner for international delegates; and the Speaker of the National Assembly, Sardar Ayaz Sadiq, who will preside over one of the sessions and host a luncheon.
Provincial assembly speakers and representatives from Kashmir will also take part, symbolizing national unity and Pakistan’s commitment to global peace and cooperation.
“In showcasing this unity,” Ms. Khar concluded, “Pakistan is sending a clear message to the world that when it comes to our national cause and global responsibility, we stand together.”
