Chairman Senate Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani, in his special message on the occasion of the International Day for Tolerance, said that tolerance and forbearance are qualities that guide every society toward peace and stability. He stated that without promoting attitudes of tolerance, social harmony cannot be achieved.
The Chairman Senate said that effective dialogue and mutual respect are the foundations of strong democratic traditions, and that Parliament is fulfilling its role with full responsibility in promoting national unity, tolerance, and social cohesion. He emphasized that all segments of society must unite against extremism, intolerance, and hate speech to ensure sustainable peace and stability in the country.
Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani stated that fostering attitudes of tolerance and respect within society is essential for security, development, and prosperity, while intolerance causes severe damage to social cohesion and national unity.
He added that it is our collective responsibility to encourage tolerance, patience, and positive thinking among the youth, as they are the ones who will lead the nation in the future. He said that Islam conveys the message of humanity, peace, patience, and mutual respect; therefore, giving central importance to tolerance in our social values is a pressing need of the time.
Chairman Senate Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani said that by promoting tolerance and brotherhood, we can lay the foundation for a strong, peaceful, and prosperous Pakistan.
