Acting President of Pakistan, Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani, in his special message on the occasion of Universal Children’s Day, said that children are the valuable asset of any nation and a symbol of a bright future. He emphasized that children’s education, health, protection, and overall well-being should remain among the top priorities of both the state and society.
The Acting President said that the government is taking every possible step for a better future for children, including legislation, institutional reforms and significant progress at the policy level. He further stated that various parliamentary forums are playing an active role in safeguarding children’s rights and promoting their welfare.
Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani also highlighted that the upbringing of children is a shared responsibility, in which parents, teachers, educational institutions, and society as a whole must play their effective role. He said that safe, educated, and confident children are the guarantee of a strong and bright future for Pakistan. The Acting President added that the state is making every possible effort to ensure full protection of children’s rights and to promote their welfare, and further improvements in these efforts are being actively pursued.
