During the meetings, detailed discussions were held on the national economy, the prevailing political situation, social harmony, trade and investment, promotion of business activities, trade potential at the Chaman border, public issues, and the measures being undertaken by the government to address these challenges.
Speaking on the occasion, Acting Chairman Senate Syedal Khan emphasized that political, economic, and social unity and national cohesion are indispensable for the country’s development and prosperity, particularly for improving the socio-economic conditions of Balochistan. He stressed the need to rise above differences and promote harmony and consensus-based politics, noting that this approach reflects the vision and policy direction of the present leadership. He further stated that under the leadership of Prime Minister of Pakistan, Mian Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif, the country is moving steadily towards development and stability.
Welcoming the delegation of religious scholars and tribal elders, Syedal Khan said that religious leaders and tribal elders have always played a pivotal role in promoting national development, social stability, and societal harmony. Their contributions, he added, foster tolerance, peace, and brotherhood within society, which form the foundation of national stability.
Addressing the youth delegation, the Acting Chairman Senate highlighted that more than 60 percent of Pakistan’s population comprises youth, making them the country’s most valuable asset. He said the government is striving to create opportunities that enable young people to develop their skills and harness their creative potential. He urged the youth to actively engage in research, innovation, and constructive activities to generate new avenues for national development and prosperity.
While interacting with the delegation of students from Balochistan, Syedal Khan reaffirmed that the development and prosperity of Balochistan remain among the top priorities of the present government. He noted that tangible progress is being witnessed through ongoing development projects across the province, including significant improvements in the communications infrastructure. He pointed out that travel time between Karachi and Gwadar has been substantially reduced, enhancing connectivity and access to remote areas.
He further stated that concrete steps are being taken for the effective and sustainable utilization of Balochistan’s mineral resources, including mines, minerals, marble, and other natural assets. These initiatives, he said, will contribute not only to the economic stability of the province but also to the overall national economy. The meetings also included deliberations on improving the railway system in Balochistan and exploring opportunities to promote trade and investment with other countries through rail connectivity.
Representatives of the Chaman Chamber of Commerce and Industry presented their proposals regarding provincial trade, investment prospects, business opportunities, and optimal utilization of resources. They also apprised the Acting Chairman Senate of the challenges being faced in trade and investment activities in Chaman. In response, Syedal Khan assured that effective and practical measures are being undertaken to promote trade, business, and investment across Pakistan, with the aim of expanding economic activity.
Concluding his remarks, Acting Chairman Senate Syedal Khan reiterated that Prime Minister Mian Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif is giving special attention to the development and prosperity of Balochistan, with a focus on bringing underdeveloped areas into the mainstream of development, creating new employment opportunities, and improving the overall standard of living of the people
