Deputy Chairman Senate Syedal Khan Holds Separate Meetings with Senators, Business Community and Political Leaders in Karachi; Economy and Karachi’s Issues Discussed
 
Deputy Chairman of the Senate, Syedal Khan, held a series of separate meetings in Karachi with Senators, representatives of the business community, and delegations of leaders from various political parties. During these meetings, detailed discussions were held on the country’s overall economic situation and the key issues faced by Karachi.
 
Chairman of the Senate Standing Committee on Rules of Procedure and Privileges, senior leader of the Pakistan Peoples Party and Provincial Adviser to the Chief Minister of Sindh, Senator Waqar Mehdi, called on the Deputy Chairman Senate. During the meeting, matters relating to parliamentary affairs, the role of committees of the Upper House, and issues of mutual interest were discussed. On the occasion, Senator Waqar Mehdi also presented a bouquet to the Deputy Chairman Senate.
 
Separately, Senator Aamir Waliuddin Chishti, Chairman of the Senate Standing Committee on Health, also met with the Deputy Chairman Senate. The meeting featured an in-depth exchange of views on the country’s overall economic situation, with particular focus on the challenges confronting Sindh province and Karachi. Emphasis was laid on the fact that Karachi is the economic lifeline of the country and that coordinated and effective measures are urgently required to resolve its fundamental issues in order to ease the difficulties faced by the public. Both leaders also shared their views on the overall development of Sindh, as well as matters relating to health, employment, and the provision of basic facilities.
 
During the discussions, parliamentary affairs in the Upper House, the legislative process, and initiatives aimed at public welfare also came under consideration. Both leaders reaffirmed their resolve to promote coordinated and positive legislation in the national interest through the parliamentary platform and to continue joint efforts for the resolution of public issues.
 
In addition, delegations comprising  representatives from Karachi and Sindh, members of the business community, and leaders of various political parties met with the Deputy Chairman Senate. These meetings included detailed discussions on the challenges facing Karachi and Sindh, the prevailing economic conditions, and issues related to business and commercial activities.
 
Speaking on the occasion, the Deputy Chairman Senate stated that under the leadership of Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif, the country’s economy is gradually moving towards recovery, and effective measures are being taken to provide relief to the general public. He emphasized that Karachi is the country’s economic and commercial hub and that the government is undertaking serious and practical steps to address the city’s longstanding issues.
 

The Deputy Chairman Senate thanked the Senators and visiting delegations and reaffirmed the commitment that Parliament would continue to play its full role in addressing public concerns, ensuring economic stability, and strengthening democratic institutions in the country.
