Chairman Senate, Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani, while extending heartfelt felicitations to the Muslim Ummah, particularly the people of Pakistan, on the auspicious occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr, reaffirmed his commitment that the true spirit of this sacred day should be embraced by making collective efforts to promote global peace, unity, and brotherhood.
In his special message, he stated that Eid-ul-Fitr is not merely a festival of joy but a practical manifestation of gratitude, fraternity, and human compassion. It reminds us of our collective responsibilities. He emphasized that tolerance, harmony, and love must be promoted at both individual and societal levels to lay the foundation of a peaceful society.
The Chairman Senate expressed deep concern over the ongoing conflicts, instability, and challenges at global level, particularly in the Muslim world. He urged the Muslim Ummah to set aside their differences and work towards unity and solidarity. He stated that the current global situation demands that the Muslim Ummah adopt collective wisdom and prudence to resolve issues and play an effective role in establishing peace across the world.
He prayed for peace, stability, and prosperity in the region and beyond.
On this occasion, Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani also urged the nation to include the underprivileged and vulnerable segments of society in the joys of Eid so as to promote social harmony. He further stated that Pakistan’s progress and stability can only be achieved through national unity, rule of law, and the promotion of democratic values.
