The Asia Pacific Geopolitical Group convened a meeting on the sidelines of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) Assembly in Istanbul , Turkey, bringing together parliamentary delegates from across the region to discuss issues related to peace, regional cooperation, and international security.
 
The meeting featured constructive dialogue underscoring the importance of parliamentary diplomacy and collaborative approaches to address emerging geopolitical challenges, promote regional stability, and strengthen mutual understanding among Asia Pacific nations.
 
The national delegation participating in the meeting included Azam Nazeer Tarar, Minister for Law and Justice; Farhan Chishti, MNA; Asad Alam Niazi, MNA; Senator Amir Waliuddin Chishti; Senator Muhammad Talha Mahmood; Syed Shamoon Hashmi; and Naqash Zafar. Delegates highlighted the country’s commitment to democratic values, multilateral cooperation, and regional peace.
 
In line with ongoing austerity measures, members of parliament are attending the IPU Assembly at their own expense, reflecting a conscious effort to support prudent use of public resources while continuing active international parliamentary engagement.
