Acting Chairman Senate Syedal Khan Says Government Taking Robust Measures for Economic Stability, National Security and Democratic Strengthening
Acting Chairman Senate Syedal Khan has said that the present government, in collaboration with coalition partners and stakeholders, is taking robust measures to strengthen the country’s economic, political, defence and security situation, improve economic conditions and promote national stability, while alongside ensuring internal peace and order, Pakistan is also playing an effective role at the international level for peace, security, reduction of global tensions and combating terrorism.
He expressed these views during a meeting with Governor Sindh and former Senator Nihal Hashmi at Governor House Sindh. During the meeting, detailed discussions were held on the country’s political situation, national security, international affairs, inter-provincial harmony, strengthening of democracy and development priorities.
Acting Chairman Senate Syedal Khan said that Prime Minister of Pakistan Mian Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif and Chief of Army Staff General Syed Asim Munir are taking extraordinary measures to strengthen the country’s economic and defence posture, make national defence impregnable and promote peace in the region. He said Pakistan’s effective diplomacy aimed at reducing tensions between the United States and Iran, bringing the parties to the negotiating table and resolving global disputes is being appreciated across the world, which is a matter of pride not only for the country but also for the political and military leadership. He said the foremost priority of the Prime Minister of Pakistan is to provide maximum relief to the people, address their economic and financial problems and take practical measures that ensure public facilitation, establish peace and order in the country, promote harmony between the federation and provinces and further strengthen democratic institutions.
The Acting Chairman Senate said that the present government is working under a special strategy for the development of underdeveloped regions and those provinces where fewer opportunities for progress were provided in the past. He said that in order to bring these areas into the national development mainstream, not only effective policymaking is being undertaken but practical measures are also being implemented. He said Balochistan is close to the heart of the Prime Minister of Pakistan and he is working day and night for its development, prosperity and public welfare.
Governor Sindh Nihal Hashmi appreciated Acting Chairman Senate Syedal Khan for being an effective voice of Balochistan in the Upper House, for promoting democracy, highlighting public issues and for his role in improving governmental affairs. He said the wisdom, dignity and effective manner in which he is conducting the proceedings of the House is commendable.
He paid tribute to the parliamentary services of the Acting Chairman Senate, expressed good wishes for him and said that under his leadership, the Upper House is playing an even more effective role in strengthening democratic traditions and safeguarding public interests.
