Advisor to the Chairman Senate of Pakistan and Ambassador to the Inter-Parliamentary Speakers’ Conference (ISC), Ms. Misbah Khar, met with the First Deputy Chairman of the Senate of Uzbekistan, H.E. Mr. Sodyq Safoev Solihovich, to discuss strengthening parliamentary ties, regional cooperation, and bilateral partnership between Pakistan and Uzbekistan.

During the meeting, Ms. Misbah Khar conveyed warm greetings from Chairman Senate Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani and reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to enhancing friendly relations with Uzbekistan. She highlighted the deep historical, cultural, and spiritual bonds shared by the two countries and emphasized the importance of parliamentary diplomacy in promoting regional understanding and cooperation.

Both sides appreciated the growing momentum in bilateral relations following recent high-level exchanges between the leadership of Pakistan and Uzbekistan. They discussed expanding cooperation in trade, connectivity, education, information technology, agriculture, and cultural exchanges, while stressing the importance of regional integration initiatives, including enhanced connectivity between Central and South Asia.

Ms. Misbah Khar also appreciated Uzbekistan’s active participation in the Inter-Parliamentary Speakers’ Conference (ISC) and acknowledged its constructive role in promoting regional peace, dialogue, and multilateral cooperation.

The two sides reaffirmed their commitment to continued engagement at bilateral and regional forums, including ECO, SCO, and OIC, and expressed confidence that stronger parliamentary cooperation would further deepen the longstanding friendship between Pakistan and Uzbekistan.
