Chairman Senate Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani Says Government Working Closely with Business Community to Promote Trade, Investment and Economic Growth

Chairman Senate of Pakistan, Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani, has said that the government is taking effective measures in collaboration with traders, investors, and the business community to promote trade, investment, and industrial activities across the country, while the political and military leadership of Pakistan is playing a responsible and proactive role for the promotion of peace at the national, regional, and global levels. He expressed these views at the inauguration ceremony of the 33rd branch of Imtiaz Group located in Sector E-11, Golra Sharif, Islamabad. Gilani addressed the chief the ceremony as guest which was attended by former Chief Minister and Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Mehtab Abbasi, former Deputy Speaker National Assembly Murtaza Javed Abbasi, former Managing Director Pakistan Bait-ul-Mal Zamurd Khan, former Senator Tanveer Ahmed Khan, members of parliament, business leaders, representatives of civil society, and a large number of citizens.

Chairman Senate paid tribute to Chairman Imtiaz Group, Imtiaz Hussain, his sons, family, and the management for their contributions toward the promotion of a modern and organized retail system in Pakistan. He stated that institutions like Imtiaz Group not only strengthen the national economy but also provide real relief to the public through the availability of quality products at affordable prices.

He said that the establishment of this world-class superstore in Islamabad reflects the capability of Pakistani business enterprises to compete at the international level. He noted that Imtiaz Group, through its 33 branches in 14 cities across the country, is providing employment opportunities to thousands of people, which is highly encouraging for the national economy, local industry, and commercial growth.
 

While addressing the ceremony and speaking to media representatives, Chairman Senate said that the government remains in continuous contact with traders, industrialists, investors, and representatives of chambers of commerce to address the challenges faced by the business community. He further stated that the concerns of traders and investors are also being seriously discussed in various parliamentary committees, and practical measures are being undertaken for their resolution. 

Referring to the prevailing international situation, he remarked that the world is facing numerous challenges due to tensions among various countries; however, Pakistan’s political and military leadership is playing effective role for peace and stability at the national, regional, and international levels. He emphasized that Pakistan has always advocated dialogue, diplomacy, and peaceful coexistence, and continues to play a constructive role in reducing global tensions.

Chairman Senate Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani also paid tribute to Pakistan’s political and military leadership for their role in helping reduce tensions between the United States and Iran and bringing the parties to the negotiating table. He stated that Pakistan’s leadership played a commendable role in helping the world avert the threat of a third world war, which reflects the visionary leadership and statesmanship of the country’s political and military leadership.

He reaffirmed the government’s commitment to continue working with the private sector to provide maximum relief to the public, create employment opportunities, and improve economic conditions in the country. He added that institutions prioritizing transparency, quality, and public service play a vital role in the nation’s development and prosperity.

 

At the conclusion of the ceremony, Chairman Senate visited the newly inaugurated branch, appreciated the arrangements, and expressed his best wishes for the continued success of Imtiaz Group. He said that the collective objective of all stakeholders should be to generate maximum employment opportunities and provide greater relief to the people.
