Deputy Chairman Senate Syedal Khan Nasar Holds Meetings with Diverse Delegations; Emphasizes Law and Order, Mineral Development, Interfaith Harmony, Social Welfare, and the Kashmir Cause
Deputy Chairman Senate Syedal Khan Nasar held separate meetings with delegations representing government institutions, professional bodies, social welfare organizations, and civil society at Parliament House. The discussions focused on a wide range of issues of national importance, including law and order, public security, mineral resource development, interfaith harmony, human rights, social welfare, employment generation, and the prevailing situation in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK).
During a meeting with DIG Operations Islamabad Police, Mr. Muhammad Jawad Tariq, the Deputy Chairman was briefed on the overall law and order situation in the federal capital and the measures being undertaken to safeguard the lives and property of citizens. Deputy Chairman Senate Syedal Khan Nasar emphasized that ensuring public safety, maintaining peace and order, and providing a secure environment are among the foremost responsibilities of the State. He urged the relevant institutions to make greater use of modern technologies to further strengthen public security and improve the quality of policing services.
Later, Director General, Pakistan Minerals Authority, Mr. Shahid Qureshi, called on the Deputy Chairman Senate and briefed him on the Authority's performance, future initiatives, and key challenges. The Deputy Chairman observed that Pakistan is richly endowed with mineral resources and stressed that their efficient and sustainable utilization could significantly strengthen the national economy while creating substantial employment opportunities, particularly in Balochistan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and other resource-rich regions of the country.
A delegation of the National Peace Committee for Interfaith Harmony and Human Rights Pakistan also met the Deputy Chairman Senate. The delegation included Raja Samad Muawiya, Dr. Abid Abbasi, Salma Malik, General Secretary of the Union of Journalists Sajjad Tariq, senior journalist Sajjad Mughal, Chaudhry Ateeq, and other members. The delegation apprised him of its initiatives aimed at promoting interfaith harmony, protecting human rights and the rights of religious minorities, as well as highlighting the current situation in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir.
In a separate meeting, Chief Executive Officer of Hijazi Welfare Foundation, Mr. Muhammad Sadiq, briefed the Deputy Chairman on the Foundation's humanitarian and welfare activities. He informed him that the Foundation, as a non-governmental and non-profit organization, is actively engaged in providing food assistance, education, healthcare services, emergency relief, and other essential support to underprivileged communities. He further highlighted the Foundation's ongoing initiatives for poverty alleviation, disaster relief, and the rehabilitation of vulnerable segments of society.
Speaking to the visiting delegations, Deputy Chairman Senate Syedal Khan Nasar stated that peace and security, economic development, social cohesion, and public welfare are the cornerstones of a strong and prosperous Pakistan. He appreciated the valuable contributions of government institutions and welfare organizations in promoting interfaith harmony, safeguarding human rights, protecting minority communities, and advancing humanitarian services.
He further noted that the present government is taking effective measures to strengthen peace, economic stability, investment, mineral resource development, and the overall well-being of the people. Reaffirming Pakistan Muslim League (N)'s longstanding commitment to the Kashmir cause, he said the party has consistently raised the voice of the Kashmiri people at both national and international forums, advocating their fundamental rights and their internationally recognized right to self-determination. He added that Mian Muhammad Nawaz Sharif, Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif, and Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif have always maintained a deep commitment to the welfare of the Kashmiri people and have consistently prioritized addressing their concerns.
The Deputy Chairman Senate reaffirmed that state institutions, welfare organizations, and all relevant stakeholders will continue to work in close coordination to promote peace, sustainable development, national unity, social stability, and public service, emphasizing that collective efforts remain the key to building a stronger, more peaceful, and more prosperous Pakistan.
