Vatican City: Senator Khalil Tahir Sandhu, Member of the Senate of Pakistan, held a meeting with His Holiness the Pope at the Vatican, where they exchanged views on peace, dialogue and the promotion of interfaith harmony.
During the meeting, His Holiness expressed appreciation for the leadership of Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif and Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, acknowledging their diplomatic and strategic efforts in promoting dialogue, de-escalation and peace during the Iran conflict.
Senator Khalil Tahir Sandhu said it was a matter of pride for Pakistan that the country's constructive role and the statesmanship of its leadership were acknowledged at such a distinguished level. He underscored the importance of continued dialogue, peaceful engagement and interfaith understanding for global peace and stability.
Senator Khalil Tahir Sandhu also had the privilege of extending a warm and heartfelt invitation to His Holiness the Pope to visit Pakistan in the near future. He said that a visit by His Holiness would be a historic honour for Pakistan and would be a particularly joyous and memorable occasion for the country's Christian community.
