Event Title: Advisor to Chairman Senate Ms. Misbah Khar Honoured with ‘Best Diplomat Award’ by Cambodia for Exemplary Role as Ambassador to ISC-2

Ms. Misbah Khar, Advisor to Chairman Senate of Pakistan and Ambassador to the 2nd Inter-Parliamentary Speakers’ Conference (ISC-2), was conferred the ‘Best Diplomat Award’ by the Government of Cambodia for her instrumental role in the successful preparation and conduct of ISC-2 in Phnom Penh.
As Co-Chair of the Drafting Committee, Ms. Khar led the negotiations that culminated in the adoption of the ISC-2 Phnom Penh Declaration, which was unanimously endorsed by 20 Speakers of Parliament. The Declaration reaffirmed the commitment of participating nations to promote peace, dialogue and multilateral cooperation.
Addressing the media, Ms. Khar underscored the core purpose of the ISC, stating that it is a multilateral platform that believes in resolving conflicts through dialogue, understanding and parliamentary diplomacy. She added that in today’s complex global environment, such platforms are vital for building trust and fostering cooperation.
Chairman Senate Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani congratulated Ms. Khar on the recognition, calling it a matter of pride for Pakistan. He lauded her dedication, strategic input during the preparatory phase, and her strong representation of Pakistan’s vision for peace.
The Cambodian Government acknowledged Ms. Khar’s contribution as reflective of the spirit of partnership and friendship that made ISC-2 a success.
