Event Title: Misbah Khar Leads Bilateral Engagement with Malaysian Parliamentary Leaders in South Africa

Advisor to Chairman Senate and Ambassador to the Inter-Parliamentary Speakers’ Conference (ISC), Ms. Misbah Khar, led a bilateral parliamentary engagement with Malaysian parliamentary leaders on the sidelines of the 69th Commonwealth Parliamentary Association (CPA) Conference in Cape Town, South Africa.
The engagement was attended by Speaker of the House of Representatives of Malaysia, H.E. Tan Sri Dato’ Dr. Johari bin Abdul, along with members of the Malaysian parliamentary delegation. Syed Ali Haider Gillani, MPA, and other members of the Pakistani delegation also participated in the meeting.
The participants exchanged views on strengthening parliamentary relations, enhancing institutional cooperation and promoting regular interaction between the legislatures of Pakistan and Malaysia.
Ms. Misbah Khar highlighted the importance of parliamentary diplomacy and greater engagement among Commonwealth parliaments. She also briefed the participating parliamentary leaders on the objectives and significance of the Inter-Parliamentary Speakers’ Conference (ISC) and its role in promoting dialogue, cooperation and exchange of parliamentary experiences.
The meeting also provided an opportunity to discuss matters of mutual interest and explore avenues for enhanced parliamentary cooperation and people-to-people contacts between Pakistan and Malaysia.
The engagement reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to advancing parliamentary diplomacy and fostering closer relations with international parliamentary partners through bilateral and multilateral parliamentary forums.
