A Pakistani parliamentary delegation is participating in the 69th Commonwealth Parliamentary Conference (CPC) in Cape Town, South Africa. On the sidelines of the conference, Ms. Misbah Khar, Advisor to the Chairman Senate and Ambassador to the Inter-Parliamentary Speakers’ Conference (ISC), held meetings with international parliamentary representatives to discuss matters of mutual interest and explore avenues for enhanced cooperation.
In one of the meetings, Ms. Misbah Khar held discussions with representatives of the Global Parliamentary Water Network (GPWN), focusing on water security, sustainable water management, climate resilience and the role of parliaments in addressing emerging water-related challenges.
The discussion covered the importance of effective water conservation, sustainable utilization of water resources, parliamentary oversight and sharing of experiences and best practices in water management. The participants also explored avenues for parliamentary cooperation in addressing water security and climate-related challenges.
In another meeting, Ms. Misbah Khar met with an international parliamentary delegation to discuss parliamentary cooperation, bilateral relations and matters of mutual interest. The meeting emphasized the importance of regular parliamentary exchanges and institutional engagement in strengthening relations among parliamentary institutions.
Ms. Misbah Khar highlighted the importance of parliamentary diplomacy and continued engagement among legislatures through international parliamentary forums, including the Commonwealth Parliamentary Association (CPA) and the Inter-Parliamentary Speakers’ Conference (ISC).
The meetings provided an opportunity to exchange perspectives on shared challenges and explore practical avenues for enhanced parliamentary cooperation and dialogue on the sidelines of the 69th Commonwealth Parliamentary Conference.
