2.      Further consideration of the following motion moved by Ms. Hina Rabbani Khar, Minister of State for Finance and Economic Affairs, on 13th June, 2009:-

 

“That the Senate may make recommendations to the National Assembly on the Finance Bill, 2009, containing the Annual Budget Statement, under Article 73 of the Constitution.”.

 

           MOTIONS FOR RECOMMENDATIONS ON THE FINANCE BILL, 2009 CONTAINING THE ANNUAL BUDGET STATEMENT.

        that the Senate of Pakistan recommends that the budgetary allocation for Defence be frozen at the amount of revised budget for 2008-09.

 

4.      RAJA MUHAMMAD ZAFAR-UL-HAQ

        that the Senate of Pakistan recommends that 25 percent reduction should be made in non-development expenditure of the Federal Government.

that the Senate of Pakistan recommends that the General Sales tax be gradually reduced to 10 percent.

that the  Senate of Pakistan recommends that the proposed Carbon tax, tax on petrol, diesel, kerosene oil and Petroleum products be reduced by 50 percent.

 

   7.        COL. (R) SYED TAHIR HUSSAIN MASHHADI        to move       -

 

that the Senate of Pakistan recommends that taxes on petroleum products be reduced by 50 percent.
