2.      Discussion on the following motion moved by Senator Muhammad Usman Khan Kakar on 5th October, 2015:-

 

“This House may discuss the existing political situation in the country.”.

 

MOTIONS

3.      SENATOR KALSOOM PARVEEN to move that the House may discuss Hajj policy of the government with particular reference to the performance of the Ministry of Religious Affairs in providing assistance to the Hujjaj after the recent stampede at Mina, Makkah.

 

4.      SENATOR SEHAR KAMRAN to move that the House may discuss the performance of National Counter Terrorism Authority (NACTA).

 

5.      SENATOR MUHAMMAD JAVED ABBASI to move that this House may discuss the high rate of increase of population in the country and its overall impact on life condition.

 

6.      SENATOR MOHAMMAD AZAM KHAN SWATI to move that this House may discuss the present situation of exports of the country.

 

7.      SENATOR COL. (R) SYED TAHIR HUSSAIN MASHHADI to move that the House may discuss the situation arising out of devaluation of Pakistan rupee.

 

RESOLUTIONS

 

8.      SENATOR SIRAJUL HAQ to move the following resolution:-

 

“The House recommends that the Federal Government should take steps to increase pension of the retired employees according to the increase in prices of daily foodstuff in the market.".

 

9.      SENATOR MUHAMMAD TALHA MEHMOOD to move the following resolution:-

 

" This House recommends that the Government should take effective steps for poverty alleviation in the country.".

 

10.    SENATOR KALSOOM PARVEEN to move the following resolution:-

 

"The House calls upon the government to announce concession in Customs duties and taxes, for the importers of the province of Balochistan.".

 

11.    SENATOR COL. (R) SYED TAHIR HUSSAIN MASHHADI to move the following resolution:-

 

"This House recommends that the Government should restore special allowance with Rest and Recreation leave for the Government employees.".

 

12.    SENATOR SAMINA ABID to move the following resolution:-

 

"This House recommends that the Government should announce a special development package for Amb (Tanawal area situated in Districts Mansehra and Haripur) in order to remove its backwardness.".

 

AMENDMENT TO THE SENATE RULES

(Under Rule 278)

 

13.    SENATOR CHAUDHARY TANVIR KHAN, to seek leave under sub-rule (4) of rule 278 of the Rules of Procedure and Conduct of Business in the Senate, 2012, to move that in rule 58 of the said Rules, for the word “two”, the word “twenty-four”  shall be substituted.

14.    SENATOR CHAUDHARY TANVIR KHAN, to move that the proposed amendment in rule 58 of the Rules of Procedure and Conduct of Business in the Senate, 2012, be taken into consideration.

 

15.    SENATOR CHAUDHARY TANVIR KHAN, to move that the proposed amendment in rule 58 of the Rules of Procedure and Conduct of Business in the Senate, 2012, be adopted.

 

STATEMENT BY THE MINISTER ON THE ADMITTED ADJOURNMENT MOTION

 

16.    Statement by the Minister for Water and Power on the admitted adjournment motion moved by Senator Shahi Syed on his behalf and on behalf of Senator Mushahid Hussain Syed, on 6th October, 2015, regarding report of NEPRA for the year 2014-15 wherein it has been revealed that the efficiency of the Ministry of Water and Power is very poor and 70% consumers are getting incorrect bills.
